Helllooo, Friends!
A little update, for those who read these things.
Finally posted the latest page for the minicomic. Um…also shuffled some stuff around and cleaned the place up some. More stuff in the Freelance gallery.
I’m still slaving away for the mortgage $$, but am trying to cram in some quality time at the drawing board for the Mysterious Visions story. We are late, and by We, I mean Me. MVA 7 shoulda been out by now, but Dimestore got backed up, I got both busy and complacent, and I now have to scramble to get this together by MegaCon…where I’d like to have something to show for this past years’ hell.
Well. Enough of that. Now, I hereby invite any and all takers to join us over at www.dimestoreproductions.com for Small Press Idol 2008! You have plenty of time to get a submission together, so do not hesitate to throw your hat into the ring!
I look forward to seeing some new faces over there. You old faces I bet I’ll see anyway.
Take care, ya’ll!
Ginny
Just a pop in to say a couple galleries have been updated recently over at my place. A fantastic addition to WC Art From Friends, by Ed McKeogh and some less terrific stuff in the WC Minicomic gallery.
I can feel Fall in the air…so it’s time for me to perk up a bit. Could be more of this to come. Hope everyone is doing great! Best wishes to those working on their SPI titles, especially those who landed publishers! Way to go, people!
Take care,
V
Hello, Friends!
Just a bulletin to tell you I am still alive!! Also, isn’t life grand? I hope you are all well and happy!
What a shame about Tom Snyder and Ingmar Bergman, huh? I’m bummed.
OK…I am also gonna hit you with a gentle plug…for the awesome might of Mysterious Visions Anthology (henceforth, to be known as MVA)!! wooo. Ok, not heard of it? Welll, you will, True Believers! The series is a looong running offering from the good folks at Dimestore Productions
In the post-Small Press Idol aftermath, a rag-tag band of comiker survivors will publish their stories in the next several issues of MVA. Windy City is heading up the team on Mysterious Visions Anthology 7…and with Am I Immortal and The History Collective, this issue will be pretty much a total collector’s item. But really, ALL the MVAs will be worth having.
I think you should consider buying them. You can subscribe to the MVAs at Dimestore. They are going to be full of new talent and bad ass art and story. While you’re over there, won’t you consider picking up some of the SPI finalist’s books on display on the top of the page? They are all going to be unique and some I’ve seen are absolutely stunning! Save postage and get an MVA subscription and the SPI finalists all at once.
One-stop shopping for the indie fan in you!
Ok. That’ll do for now…but believe me, Tiger(s)…you’ve not heard the last of the MVA pimpin. Not by half!
Unless you unsubscribe. But really, why would you?
Best to all!
Virginia
Thank you, people of the planet, who voted for Windy City!! I received 111 votes! I am just now realizing what that means…It was astounding to get so many people to take the time and not inconsiderable effort to go and do that voting thing. Man! I want to THANK you people!
THANK YOU, PEOPLE!!
Alas, we did not win the day at SPI…but we got us a cover slot in the Mysterious Visions Anthology…maybe November issue. Not sure yet.
6 others did advance, however. Anyone wanting to throw some vote love to them is super recommended to do so by moi. Do so.
I will be honest to say I have faves to root for, but I just cannot be dissin the others. Too many good people working too damn hard to play any faves. I’ve learned a lot from all of them. Little lessons from EVERY team. What an experience it’s been and so good for me personally to have finally put myself out there to see what I could do.
Thank you, former competitors. You guys made this contest worthwhile for me professionally. The votes just made me feel good. been a long time since that happened. Thanks again to all. The emails will be comin, but I just hate this computer right now. Gonna ape Translucent Ed a little and draw a thank you.
Virginia is…Over and out.
